Environment Protection and Whale Watching in the Patagonian Coast


Argentinean NGO with over 30 years of experience in environment protection, research and education in Patagonia and the southwestern Atlantic. The NGO works on coastal use and coastal preservation in the Argentinean and Chilean sea.

Function / Working area

The NGO takes care of a protected area to preserve it as representative for the Patagonian coastal steppe. It executes research programmes on the ecosystem and biodiversity, programmes on environment and species conservation and education activities. The NGO also manages a whale watching station near the city of Puerto Madryn, where big crowds of Southern right whales can be watched from the coast.

Interns can collaborate in research and administration, and can also work in the whale watching station (census, observation, education/visitor support).



The internship is open for everyone.

Interns who do their internship in the nature preserve area can sleep in the volunteer’s accommodation in the area (40-50 Euros per day, minimum 10 days). Homestay in Puerto Madryn is also possible.
